General Settings

In the section General Settings, you can edit global settings for several areas. There won't be an explanation for every setting, as some of them are self-explanatory. If the setting you are looking for isn't documented, hover over the space between the title and input field of the setting. A question mark will appear, containing a hint about the usage of this setting.

CAPTCHA Enabled

Check the box to enable CAPTCHA.

CAPTCHA is a program that can tell whether its user is a human or a computer. You've probably seen them — colorful images with distorted text at the bottom of web registration forms. CAPTCHAs are used by many websites to prevent abuse from "bots," or automated programs usually written to generate spam. No computer program can read distorted text as well as humans can, so bots cannot submit forms protected by CAPTCHAs. Smartstore uses reCAPTCHA provided by Google. So, before you can use CAPTCHA to protect your forms, you will have to register your site for the Google service. After you've done so, Google will provide a public and a secret key which you have to enter in the fields reCAPTCHA public key and reCAPTCHA private key respectively.

Attention

There are two different versions of the reCaptcha.
Version "2" and version "3" (invisible).
Activate "Use invisible reCAPTCHA" only if version 3 has been created at Google.
As a precaution, activate the captcha first only for the contact page and not for the login pages.

Show On Pages

If you have enabled CAPTCHA, you will get a number of options for several pages on which customers can submit forms to your shop. With these options, you can enable or disable CAPTCHA for each of these forms.

In the tab social networks, you can determine whether to show any social networks, and you can enter all the URLs to your social network channels. If you don’t want a particular social network icon to be shown, just leave the field blank.

Full Text Settings

In this tab, you can set up Full Text Search. Your SQL server has to support the MS SQL Server feature Full Text Search. If your server does not support this feature, Smartstore will detect this and display a corresponding message.

Full text search works faster than the normal search function if big volumes of data are involved, and it gives you the opportunity to control the search results.
